Recipients Signing In-Person
In-Person Signing permits a signer who is physically present at the time of signature or does not have access to the internet or an email address, to electronically sign a document. An Administrator with a Foxit eSign account will need to help the signer in the signing process and conduct the in-person signing. You will be able to create legally binding, electronically signed papers without needing to use an e-mail address.
Use case example
An example could be Hospice care staff visiting their patients in-person in the patients home. The patient does not have an email address or they do not have internet access to electronically sign a document. The Hospice staff conducts an in-person signing session on a tablet and hands over the tablet to the patient. The patient completes their part of the signing process and gives back the control of the screen to the Hospice staff.
Send with In-Person Signing
Once your document has been created and is ready for signing, take the following steps after hitting ‘Send’:
- Enable the In-Person signing option.
- Select a contact already in your address book or select ‘Add New’. The email address is optional but can be used if the in-person signer would like a copy of their document sent to an email address.
- Select any of the account users to act as a signing administrator for the in-person parties and click on the Send button. It will take you to the signing process right away if you are the sender. If you have selected another user as the administrator, they will click on the invitation email to the registered email address of their user.
- Once the in-person signing administrator clicks on the “View Document”-link, they will be redirected to the In-Person Signing Administration Session where the Administrator will have two options:
a) Give control to the In-Person Signer
b) Continue as an In-Person Administrator - In-Person Signers need to click on the checkbox to confirm signing the document electronically. Click on the Review document.
- After going through the envelope, the In-Person Signer will complete their part, click "Finish" and ‘Confirm Signature’. Recipients can choose to review the document again or submit the signature.
- Once the In-Person Signer confirms the signature, they will be asked to pass control back to the In-Person Signing Administrator, or to continue to view the document.
- The Administrator will enter their account password to regain access and will completing the signing process by clicking on confirm.
- The In-Person Signing Administrator will get control back and will receive a “Signature Successful”-message.
The In-Person Signer will receive a copy of the completed document in their email address, if one was entered, after the signing process has been completed and the envelope is executed.
